  • "Me and my family ate at the GHH Tapas Bar just a couple of weeks ago. Infact it was Halloween as it was nice to see that ALL of the staff were dressed up and had made a re al effort! They all looked so funny and it was honestly quite hard to take them seriously. Needless to say all the girls still worked as well as ever and the food was Outstanding! As at first i was quite worried about trying the Tapas but honesty it was lovely and you got LOADS!!! It was a good night had by all and I would like to thank the Georgian House Staff for making us so welcome ! "

  • "Just a quick note to say thanks for a superb weekend break at your hotel. The staff are so friendly, we arrived on Friday lunchtime and was greeted by Steph who showed us to our room. It was really nice, the décor & furniture are all new and the little touches like complementary sweets & nibbles in the room! The power shower was superb. We had dinner on the Friday & Saturday night in the restaurant & let me tell you guys what a brilliant meal with friendly service! The breakfast service is equally sumptuous! We would recommend this hotel highly if you are looking for a quality private run hotel, with super rooms, super service, super food and above all delivered in a professional and friendly manner! We will return later in the year, thanks again. Mr & Mrs Finch, Wigan. "

  • "I regularly work up in the west of cumbria and by far the georgian house is the best hotel i have ever stayed in. From the minute you arrive you are greeted by a friendly face. The staff cant do enough for you and will try their very best to accomodate any needs you have (although i have yet to have any problems!). You are personally shown to your rooms by the staff, all of which are immaculately clean and beautifully decorated and even have a teddy on the bed! From foot spas to lush dressing gowns and slippers, a personal DVD collection and a plasma TV you couldnt ask for more! Not to mention the tea tray which has crisps, biscuits, a jar of sweets and proper cadburys hot chocolate! How many hotels offer you that! And the best part i must say (yes, there is more) is the breakfast! Loads to choose from including fresh fruit, muesli and full english with proper cumbrian ingredients cooked to your liking, you won't be needing any lunch! Would highly reccomend this gem of a hotel to anyone staying in the west of cumbria! Cant wait to go back! "

  • "I have read the two other comments below, and completly agree with both. The Georgian House is beautiful, Yet unfortunatly I have not stayed in the hotel as i am a local. So my experience relies solely on the restaurant. The food is delicious and the staff are great. The Georgian house has a mix of generations working in the restaurant which is always nice to see. One of the waitress' is very up on her wine knowledge and can suggest the perfect wine for your meal, more waitresses like her would make this place perfect. The staff work really hard and its evident that those behind the doors work equally as hard with the little touches. If you want a nice, quiet night out with your otherhalf the Georgian house is the place to go. Keep on with the Good work "

  • "Me and my wife stayed here for the weekend in May 2011 and were very impressed with everything. The room was spacious and clean and the en-suite was amazing- definitely much better than expected! The staff were friendly and accommodating, and breakfast was the best we have had in any guesthouse in the UK. We would certainly recommend staying here to anyone who is visiting the area. Thanks!"
